Medical Care for Students Jul-2012

We all know that learning process requires for students to be in good health both physically and psychologically. For that reason, Cristo Redentor School considered provide medical service to its students while celebrating its institutional anniversary. On this context ABCD CHIMBOTE project handed over, to the school, leftover medicines out of the medical campaign our friends of the First United Methodist Church of Marietta (MFUMC) from GA-USA performed in Chimbote previously.

At the same event students showed diverse observable products they made as a product of their academic learning.

Atención Médica Para Estudiantes. Jul-2012

Todos sabemos que el proceso de aprendizaje requiere que los estudiantes se encuentren en buena salud tanto física como emocinalmente. Por esa razón, el colegio Cristo Redentor consideró proveer atención médica a sus estudiantes durante la celebración de su aniversario institucional. En ese contexto el proyecto ABCD CHIMBOTE entregó al colegio las medicinas que quedaron de la campaña médica que nuestros amigos de la Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida de Marietta (MFUMC) de GA-USA realizaron en Chimbote previamente.

En el mismo evento los estudiantes mostraron los diversos productos observables que hicieron producto de su apredizaje académico.

Community Activites of MFUMC-USA Mission Team Dec-2012. Day-5

On the last day of community activities, the MFUMC mission team installed another water purifier but this time at the kingerdarten for little children aged 3-5 of the Cristo Redentor school. This was an urgent need the head of the institution had to address as soon as possible in order to students to be able to drink clean water and so preventing them from catching any kind of disease. ABCD CHIMBOTE made correspondent coordinations on this issue. We thank God for the opportunities He provides to serve others.

On the other side, we wanna express our deep gratitude to MFUMC from GA-USA for focusing on helping improving lives of Peruvian people, specially those in extreme need. (Info of the third/fourth activity day)

Actividades Comunitarias del Equipo Misionero de MFUMC-USA Dic-2012. Día-5

En el último día de actividades comunitarias, el equipo misionero de MFUMC instaló otro purificador de agua pero esta vez en la institución educativa Cristo Redentor Nivel Inicial (niños de 3-5 años). Esta fue una necesidad urgente que la dirección de la institución tuvo que abordar tan pronto como fuera posible a fin de que los niños pudieran contar con agua purificada y así evitar el contagio con algún tipo de enfermedad. ABCD CHIMBOTE hizo las coordinaciones al respecto. Agradecemos a Dios por la oportunidad de servir a los demás.

Por otro lado, expresamos nuestro profundo agradecimiento a la iglesia MFUMC de GA-USA por ayudar a mejorar las vidas de los peruanos, sobre todo de quienes más lo necesitan. (Información del tercer/cuarto día de actividades)

Community Activites of MFUMC-USA Mission Team. Dec-2012. Days 3-4

On this new post, I would like to share with you that on the third and fourth community activity day MFUMC medical team members continued attending everybody who came to the medical campaign. There were several specialties as well as odontology service, besides, patients were vaccinated for the flu. On the other side, many people, specially adult ones, received reading glasses for free. They were so thankful as they could not get them by their own and from now on will be able to read.

On the other side, after coordinations were made beforehand, some team members took time to visit San José Elementary School in a countryside of Chimbote to install a water purifier which will allow children to drink clean water. (Info of the second and fifth activity day)

Actividades Comunitarias del Equipo Misionero de MFUMC-USA. Dic-2012. Días 3-4

En este nuevo post, me gustaría compartir con todos ustedes que en el tercer y cuarto día de actividades comunitarias los miembros del equipo médico de MFUMC continuaron atendiendo a cada persona que vino a la campaña médica. Hubo varias especialidas asi como también servicio de odontología, además, los pacientes fueron vacunados contra la gripe. Por otro lado, muchas personas, especialmente adultos, recibieron lentes de lectura gratis y estuvieron agradecidos ya que no podían conseguirlos por ellos mismos los cuales ahora les permitirá leer.

Por otro lado, después de haberse hecho las coordinaciones pertinentes con antelación, algunos miembros del equipo tomaron un tiempo para visitar la Escuela Primaria San José ubicada en la campiña de Chimbote para instalar un purificador de agua lo cual permitirá que los niños consuman agua purificada. THE SECOND DAY OF COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES OF THE MFUMC MISSION TEAM included the start of the medical campaign in which a good quantity of people were atended and at the same time received medication for free; then, we visited a shelter for battered women -both physically and emotionally- where they and their children have a place to live, food to eat and the chance to develop some skills. We also visited a public library where students come to do their homeworks and receive guidance from a tutor.

We finally went to a government school located in Tangay community, a rural area, to see the possibility to install a water purifier there. (Info of the first and third/fourth activity day)

ACTIVIDADES COMUNITARIAS DEL EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA. DIC-2012. Día-2

EL SEGUNDO DÍA DE ACTIVIDADES COMUNITARIAS DEL EQUIPO DE MISIONES DE MFUMC incluyó el inicio de la campaña médica donde una buena cantidad de personas fueron atendidas y al mismo tiempo recibieron medicina completamente gratis; luego, visitamos un refugio para mujeres maltratadas -tanto física como emocionalmente-, allí, tienen un lugar para vivir, alimento y oportunidad para aprender un oficio. También visitamos una biblioteca donde los estudiantes van a realizar sus tareas y reciben orientación de un tutor.

Finalmente fuimos a un colegio estatal ubicado en la comunidad rural de Tangay para ver la posibilidad de instalar un purificador de agua allí. (Información del primer y tercer/cuarto día de actividades)

Community Activites of MFUMC-USA Mission Team. Dec-2012 Day-1

AFTER CARRYING OUT OUR FIRST MEDICAL CAMPAIGN last year 2011 in the San Pedro University Polyclinic in Nuevo Chimbote, here we go again to hold a new medical project organized by ABCD CHIMBOTE and this time the place chosen was the medical post SANTA ANA located among humble communities in Chimbote where people need to be provided with medical care most of the time. So, in order to address this issue, a new mission team of MFUMC from Georgia USA made up by health professionals and volunteers was set up and came down to this Peruvian city to provide medical assistance and perform other community activities.

The first day, the team focused on preparing and organizing everything to start attending patients next day. Then, we visited Villa Maria Methodist Church where we worked with children and teens through a VBS. (Info of the second activity day)

ACTIVIDADES COMUNITARIAS DEL EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA. DIC-2012. Día-1

DESPUÉS DE REALIZAR NUESTRA PRIMERA CAMPAÑA MÉDICA el año pasado 2011 en el Policlínico de la Universidad San Pedro, aquí estamos de nuevo para ejecutar otro proyecto organizado por ABCD CHIMBOTE en el área de salud pero esta vez en la Posta Médica Santa Ana ubicada entre comunidades humildes de Chimbote donde la población necesita tener acceso a cuidado médico permanente. Por tal motivo, y para abordar el asunto, la iglesia MFUMC de Georgia-USA designó un nuevo equipo de misiones formado por personal médico y voluntarios que llegó a esta ciudad peruana para proveer asistencia médica y realizar otras actividades comunitarias.

El primer día, el equipo se centró en preparar todo lo necesario para empezar a atender a los pacientes el siguiente día. Luego, visitamos la Iglesia Metodista de Villa María donde realizamos una Escuela Bíblica con niños y adolescentes. (Información del segundo día de actividades)

MFUMC-USA Team Mission Visits Pat's Place in Lima. Mar-2012

AFTER OUR COMMUNITY WORK WAS DONE in Chimbote, the whole MFUMC mission team and myself traveled to Lima to visit Pat's Place, a women's refuge in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru that offers a safe and warmth place, hope and encouragement for women in need and their children. This people has suffered several kind of abuse and the organization focuses on restoring their hearts through connecting them with their Maker and Lover, Jesus Christ, as they are taught their value as people and many different skills to help them successfully survive in this world.

We talked to the director Laura Ali who shared on the mission of the refuge and support they receive specially from American donors. We spent a special time with children.

EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA VISITA PAT'S PLACE EN LIMA. Mar-2012

DESPUÉS QUE NUESTRO TRABAJO COMUNITARIO TERMINÓ en Chimbote, el equipo misionero de MFUMC y mi persona viajamos a Lima a visitar Pat's Place, un refugio de mujeres en el distito de San Juan de Lurigancho en Lima, Perú que ofrece un lugar cálido y seguro, esperanza y ánimo a mujeres en necesidad y a sus hijos. Estas personas han sufrido diversos tipos de abuso y la organización se enfoca en restaurar sus corazones a través de una conexión con su Hacedor y Protector, Jesucristo, además se les enseña su valor como personas y diferentes habilidades que les ayuden a sobrevivir en este mundo.

Conversamos con la directora Laura Ali quien compartió con nosotros sobre la misión del refugio y el apoyo que reciben especiamente de benefactores norteamericanos. Pasamos un tiempo especial con los niños.

MFUMC-USA Mission Team In Chimbote. Mar-2012. Day-2

ON THE SECOND ACTIVITY DAY of MFUMC mission team, we all went to a community located close to father Jack's parish where we helped build a estera house for a homeless family. Among family members there were some children who not only needed a safe place where to live but medical care and support for them to be able to attend school. After that we visited San Pedro University Polyclinic to give, as gratitude, English dictionaries sent by sister Dolores to health staff that helped us in the medical campaign held there.

We also visited Chimbote ROTARY Club facility to express our thankfulness to its president and officials for their ongoing support to our community projects; at the same time, we strengthened our fellowship and renewed our commitment to continue working together on future community initiatives.

EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA VISITA CHIMBOTE. Mar-2012. Día-2

EN EL SEGUNDO DÍA DE ACTIVIDADES del equipo misionero de MFUMC, fuimos a una comunidad ubicada cerca a la parroquia del sacerdote Juan donde ayudamos a consutruir una casa de estera para una familia que no la tenía. Entre los miembros de familia habían niños quienes no solo necesitaban un lugar seguro donde vivir sino cuidado médico y apoyo para que puedan asistir al colegio. Después de eso visitamos el Policlínico de la Universidad San Pedro para entregar, como muestra de gratitud, diccionarios de inglés enviados por la hermana Dolores al personal de salud que nos apoyó en la campaña médica realizada allí.

También visitamos las instalaciones del ROTARY Club de Chimbote para expresar nuestro agradecimiento a su presidenta y oficiales por su apoyo continuo a nuestros proyectos comunitarios; al mismo tiempo, fortalecimos nuestro compañerismo y renovamos nuestro compromiso de seguir trabajando juntos en futuras iniciativas comunitarias.
