MFUMC-USA Team Mission Visits Pat's Place in Lima. Mar-2012

AFTER OUR COMMUNITY WORK WAS DONE in Chimbote, the whole MFUMC mission team and myself traveled to Lima to visit Pat's Place, a women's refuge in San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, Peru that offers a safe and warmth place, hope and encouragement for women in need and their children. This people has suffered several kind of abuse and the organization focuses on restoring their hearts through connecting them with their Maker and Lover, Jesus Christ, as they are taught their value as people and many different skills to help them successfully survive in this world.

We talked to the director Laura Ali who shared on the mission of the refuge and support they receive specially from American donors. We spent a special time with children.

EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA VISITA PAT'S PLACE EN LIMA. Mar-2012

DESPUÉS QUE NUESTRO TRABAJO COMUNITARIO TERMINÓ en Chimbote, el equipo misionero de MFUMC y mi persona viajamos a Lima a visitar Pat's Place, un refugio de mujeres en el distito de San Juan de Lurigancho en Lima, Perú que ofrece un lugar cálido y seguro, esperanza y ánimo a mujeres en necesidad y a sus hijos. Estas personas han sufrido diversos tipos de abuso y la organización se enfoca en restaurar sus corazones a través de una conexión con su Hacedor y Protector, Jesucristo, además se les enseña su valor como personas y diferentes habilidades que les ayuden a sobrevivir en este mundo.

Conversamos con la directora Laura Ali quien compartió con nosotros sobre la misión del refugio y el apoyo que reciben especiamente de benefactores norteamericanos. Pasamos un tiempo especial con los niños.

ON THE SECOND ACTIVITY DAY of MFUMC mission team, we all went to a community located close to father Jack's parish where we helped build a estera house for a homeless family. Among family members there were some children who not only needed a safe place where to live but medical care and support for them to be able to attend school. After that we visited San Pedro University Polyclinic to give, as gratitude, English dictionaries sent by sister Dolores to health staff that helped us in the medical campaign held there.

We also visited Chimbote ROTARY Club facility to express our thankfulness to its president and officials for their ongoing support to our community projects; at the same time, we strengthened our fellowship and renewed our commitment to continue working together on future community initiatives.

EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA VISITA CHIMBOTE. Mar-2012. Día-2

EN EL SEGUNDO DÍA DE ACTIVIDADES del equipo misionero de MFUMC, fuimos a una comunidad ubicada cerca a la parroquia del sacerdote Juan donde ayudamos a consutruir una casa de estera para una familia que no la tenía. Entre los miembros de familia habían niños quienes no solo necesitaban un lugar seguro donde vivir sino cuidado médico y apoyo para que puedan asistir al colegio. Después de eso visitamos el Policlínico de la Universidad San Pedro para entregar, como muestra de gratitud, diccionarios de inglés enviados por la hermana Dolores al personal de salud que nos apoyó en la campaña médica realizada allí.

También visitamos las instalaciones del ROTARY Club de Chimbote para expresar nuestro agradecimiento a su presidenta y oficiales por su apoyo continuo a nuestros proyectos comunitarios; al mismo tiempo, fortalecimos nuestro compañerismo y renovamos nuestro compromiso de seguir trabajando juntos en futuras iniciativas comunitarias.

MFUMC-USA Mission Team In Chimbote. Mar-2012. Day-1

ONE MORE TIME, "ABCD CHIMBOTE" Project coordinated the visit to Chimbote of a new MFUMC misssion team from Georgia-USA. Team members were here to support some community activities, meet potencial partners (local organizations or foreign ones running their projects in this city) and try to partner with them in order to perform future community initiatives together. The first day we visited Santa Ana Medical Post where a team of voluntary health professionals belonging to American assistance organization LAMA (Los Amigos Medical Aid) were holding a medical campaign.

MFUMC leaders talked to LAMA leaders, Mr. Tony Brama and Mrs. Dorothy Brama -organizers of this medical event- about health projects they hold in Chimbote and the possibility to partner to perform medical campaigns together in the future. We then visited the house of a humble family to inquiere about conditions its members are living in and canalize some kind of support.

EQUIPO MISIONERO DE MFUMC-USA VISITA CHIMBOTE. Mar-2012. Día-1

UNA VEZ MÁS, EL PROYECTO "ABCD CHIMBOTE" coordinó la visita a Chimbote de un nuevo equipo de misiones de MFUMC de Georgia-USA. Los miembros del equipo estuvieron aquí para apoyar algunas actividades comunitarias, conocer potenciales socios (organizaciones locales o extranjeras que ejecutan sus proyectos en ésta ciudad) e intentar unir esfuerzos con ellos para desarrollar juntos futuras iniciativas comunitarias. El primer día visitamos la Posta Médica Santa Ana donde un grupo de profesionales médicos voluntarios pertenecientes a la organización norteamericana de apoyo social LAMA (Los Amigos Medical Aid) estuvieron realizando una campaña médica.

Los líderes de MFUMC conversaron con los líderes de LAMA, Sr. Tony Brama y la Sra. Dorothy Brama -organizadores de éste evento médico- acerca de los proyectos de salud que vienen ejecutando en Chimbote y la posibilidad de unir esferzos para realizar campañas médicas en el futuro. Después, visitamos la casa de una familia humilde para ver las condiciones en las cuales viven sus miembros y canalizar algún tipo de ayuda.
