THROUGH THIS POST, I will share on the second day of activities performed by the MFUMC mission team during their visit to Chimbote. In the morning, a group made up by Forrest Cate, Brian McNair, Faith Robel and me, Pablo Beltrán, went to Monte Chimbote community to talk with its leaders and the principal of the elementary school located there, to explore the possibility to install a water purifier, on a new mission trip, for the benefit of the whole community. Jorge Villar, CHOI executive director, also participated in the meeting, as a partner willing to support this initiative. ABCD Chimbote project was coordinating this meeting.

Members of the second mission group went to San Gerónimo brickworks -managed by CHOI- to help make concrete blocks. As you know, MFUMC payed for the cost of concrete floors for three Wawa Wasis. In the afternoon, the entire mission team was preparing the room and leveling the ground of the place where another Wawa Wasi will run. Then, they took concrete blocks (that will form the cement floor) from the brickworks to the Wawa Wasi. In the afternoon, the team went to the Church of God of Profecy located in San Luis-Nuevo Chimbote where it was held Vacation Bible School for children and teens.

A TRAVÉS DE ESTE POST, compartiré sobre el segundo día de actividades realizado por el equipo misionero de MFUMC durante su visita a Chimbote. En la mañana, un grupo formado por Forrest Cate, Brian McNair, Faith Robel and me, Pablo Beltrán, fuimos a la comunidad de Monte Chimbote para conversar con sus líderes y la directora del colegio primario ubicado allí, para explorar la posibilidad de instalar un purificador de agua, en un nuevo viaje misionero, para el beneficio de la comunidad. Jorge Villar, director ejecutivo de CHOI, también participó en la reunión, como socio dispuesto a apoyar esta iniciativa. El proyecto ABCD Chimbote estuvo coordinando esta reunión.

Los miembros del segundo grupo de misioneros fueron a la ladrillera San Gerónimo -administrado por CHOI- para ayudar a hacer bloques de concreto. Como uds. saben, MFUMC pagó el costo de los pisos de concreto para tres Wawa Wasis. En la tarde, todo el grupo misionero estuvo preparando el salón y nivelando el suelo del lugar donde funcionará otro Wawa Wasi. Luego, estuvieron trasladando los bloques de concreto (que formarán el piso de cemento) desde la ladrillera al Wawa Wasi. En la tarde, el equipo se dirigió a la Iglesia de Dios de la Profecía ubicada en San Luis-Nuevo Chimbote donde se llevó a cabo la Escuela Bíblica de Verano para niños y adolescentes.
